The First of Many

To New Beginnings and Great Adventures…

I’m trying something new. Mainly, to keep track of my memories and to bring family and friends along with me on my travels. Secondly, to help other travelers and ESL teachers from my own experiences.

It all started last December when I finally made the decision to get my TEFL certificate through ITA (International TEFL Academy), and I highly recommend them. The course was 10 weeks with an optional 2 weeks of lessons on Business English and Young learners and then 20 hours of practicum. If you want to know more about my experience with them feel free to contact me.

After completing my practicum hours in June I received my certificate in July and was ready to go. I’m currently talking to a recruiter to help me find a job in Beijing, China. Let me say that again… I’m in the process of finding a job and moving to China… !!! Needless to say I’m feeling all the emotions at once yet I am very much ready for this and also not ready at the same time.

While I’m waiting to hear back about contracts and to get the very long and tiring process of receiving a Z Visa started, I continue to work at Starbucks among the pumpkin spice beverage craze and the calls about the spiky, matte black tumblers. Please stay tuned and feel free to sign up for email updates for when I make new blog posts.
